Finding A Legitimate Work At Home Job

With all of the opportunities available to work at home, it may be difficult to separate the legitimate work at home jobs from the scams that proliferate on the internet. Arriving in email boxes almost daily and in pop up ads on many popular sites, the scams are offered more often than the legitimate work at home jobs and it can be difficult to know which is which. Think about finding legitimate work at home jobs in the same way you would look for a traditional job.

If you were going to be charged for filling out a job application, most likely you would refuse to fill it out. If you were told as soon as you were properly trained, by the company at your own expense, the company will tell you what the job entails and if you get it, you would probably walk out the door. Work at home jobs found on the internet should be treated no different. If a company wants you to pay, regardless of the amount, before divulging any information about what you would be asked to do and for whom, it is probably not a legitimate opportunity.

If they require you spend money on pieces, parts and equipment before revealing information on what you will be doing and what companies are your potential customers, it is most likely a scam. Regardless of the promise for riches, do not allow yourself to be drawn into programs that require you to recruit a certain number of people before you start getting paid for your work. One company promises a 40 percent profit on all goods sold from your website but unless you have at least two other people working under you, then you do not qualify for the commission.

Of course, they may not tell you this until you have paid a small fee to join their franchise program. Before you accept any jobs working from home, find out if there are going to be any fees. Some fees are justified and almost expected but know exactly what you are going to get for the money you spend. If you are buying products, find out the return policy and if you are paying for a service, find out the qualifications of the person or company offering the service.

Legitimate work at home jobs are out there but do your home work before applying for one. Asking experts can also pose an opportunity as the so called experts will offer six differing views on the same situation or company. Contact a real person who has done work for the company previously and has an unbiased opinion of the opportunity, to best learn if the work at home job is legitimate.

get rich quick, online business, free traffic, article marketing, internet marketing, affiliate money making program, website

> The first myth is you can get rich quick online

We hear all the time and see sales pages all the time that claim that if you do this and you do that, you will make $100.000 next month. You will make $10.000 tomorrow. You can do a $1 million launch in two weeks. We have all seen something along those lines, whether it’s more or less, but we have all seen something like that online.

I think that it makes it real easy for us to get frustrated when we set up a web page or we set up a squeeze page and we get 15 subscribers and we maybe make one sale. Then we go a few days and nothing happens.

And sometimes we’re even following this plan that’s supposed to make us rich tomorrow. The bottom line is that doesn’t happen. That’s hype. Perhaps you’ve been bitten by that hype before and that’s ok. Recognize that the hype doesn’t work and you have to build something solid.

You’re not going to get rich quick. There may be a 1 in a million shot that you’re going to just stumble on the perfect product with the perfect sales page at the perfect time and something big is going to happen. Unfortunately, even for those people, the 1 in a million shot that something like that possibly might happen, they tend to be one-shot wonders because they never learn the foundations of making something happen. So what happens is they have this one shot, they make $20,000 – $40,000 maybe the first month, and they’re never ever able to duplicate it.

Your first few months can be really slow and you can’t let that frustrate you.

The online business is no different than offline. It’s no different than opening up a hotdog shop. If you open up a brand new hotdog shop in your town, you’re not going to sell a million hotdogs your second week, no matter how much publicity you get, no matter how good the hotdogs are. Even if you were to do a huge number of hotdogs, you probably wouldn’t even be able to keep up with the business, so the natural way that you grow an offline business is you start by advertising some. People would come to the shop and some of them would like the hotdogs and they’d tell other people.

You’d run some specials and month after month you’d do more and more business. Frankly, the first few months with your hotdog business you wouldn’t even break even.

Hopefully by the end of the year you’re in profit. Then the next year you make a nice profit. And that’s kind of how online business is.

> The second myth is the free traffic myth

The funny thing is, I just have to laugh when I see it because I look at each one of those sources of ‘free traffic’ and none of them are really free. They all have a cost involved, whether there’s time, whether there’s money involved, every kind of free traffic.

Even article marketing is not free traffic. It may not cost you dollars to write the article, but it costs you time.

> The third myth is that internet marketing is easy to learn

It’s not easy to learn. It’s a skill just like anything else. It’s a skill just like plumbing or electrical work or physics. It’s not something you’re going to learn in 30 days.

You need to spend probably several hundred hours on one thing online before you’re going to get good at it. If you’re working on this 30 hours a week and let’s just say the average is 200 hours to learn to get good at one thing, that’s an average of seven weeks for each thing you need to get good at.

To get efficient at one thing you’re going to need to spend some time. It’s not going to happen overnight. Sure, you’re going to have some light bulbs that come on, but none of it’s going to happen over night.

But for internet marketing first of all you have got to be able to get a website online. It is a technical thing and best of all is that there is an affiliate money making program that gives you a professional website with all tools to run it and make residual income. This kind of programs can save your expensive time and energy. They offer you organized strategy and you can find couching and support before you start any business.
